You’re recommending books about the Big Bang, the moment billion years ago when our universe began. I think pretty much everyone has heard of the Big Bang, but what some of these books, including yours, suggest is that we don’t actually know that much about it. According to big-bang theories, at the beginning of time, all of the matter and energy in the universe was concentrated in a very dense state, from which it "exploded," with the resulting expansion continuing until the present. This big bang is dated between 10 and 20 .

Just a few weeks after Bill Gates showed up on The Big Bang Theory, the show kept the celebrity guest spot train rolling with an appearance from renowned fantasy author Neil Gaiman. And, we're Author: Adrienne Jones.   According to Prof. Joseph Silk of the University of California, author of a recent book on modern cosmology, “the big bang is the modern version of the creation of the universe.”.

The Big Bang • Broadly accepted theory for the origin and evolution of our universe. • billion years ago, the visible universe was only a few millimeters across. • It expanded from this hot dense state into the vast cosmos we currently Size: KB.   Or was it born in a fiery "big bang" billions of years ago? "In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth," reads the story of creation described in Genesis, the first book of the Bible.

A short Epilogue is also given exploring the philosophical and religious implications of the Big Bang. Although the book's beginning downplayed belief in a Deity the author admits (p ) that the scientific community has not yet "properly addressed the ultimate question of where the universe came from" and that the answer might indeed be Cited by: The book spans the range of the earliest moments after the big bang to the formation of nuclei, atoms and eventually the galaxies we see around us.

The illustrations are lovely and serve the purpose of bringing the material to a general audience. Read more. 2 people found this helpful.5/5(3). The book is a long (and mostly fun) 'story' about the various scientific discoveries that eventually led to the acceptance of the big bang theory.

Contrary to the name of the book, the author does NOT actually go into the details of big bang or even special/general theories of relativity - it was quite disheartening/5. The Big Bang is a docu-fiction, a kind of novel where fact and fiction is melded together to create a new alloy.

It has something in common with Max Allan Collins' Nate Heller series which features a fictional character who hobnobs with historical characters/5. The book is essentially the story of the Big Bang theory. Like any good tale, the discovery and proof of the Big Bang theory has more than its fair share of curious incidents and peculiar characters.

The story begins with the theoretical foundations laid by Einstein and his General Theory of Relativity. Explore our list of Big Bang Theory Books at Barnes & Noble®. The story’s focus returns to the child in their bed (reading The Big Bang Book) accompanied by the text, “And on that planet is you. And everyone else.”. David Bowman's novel "Big Bang" is a sprawling, manic miracle of a book from a writer who never achieved the fame he long deserved.
